1. Remove the timing gear for the magneto and governor drive.2. Loosen bolts (1) that fasten the oil pan to the cylinder block.3. Remove bolts (2) that fasten the oil pan to the front cover. 4. Remove all necessary bolts (3) and nuts that fasten the front cover to the cylinder block. Remove timing gear cover (4) from the cylinder block. 5. Remove timing gear cover gasket (5).Install Timing Gear Cover
1. Install a new gasket (1) on the cylinder block if necessary. 2. Install timing gear cover (2) and the bolts that hold it. If a new gasket was installed, cut the bottom of the gasket even with the timing gear cover surface. 3. Install and tighten the oil pan bolts (3).4.
