(1) Fuel tank cap breather assembly
(2) Breather gasket

(4) Fuel tank cap O-ring seal
(5) Nylon washers

(7) LeverFuel tank cap breather assembly (1) cannot be cleaned on this machine. The fuel tank cap breather assembly must be replaced with a new one at the time of required service.
Lift lever (7) straight up and turn lever counterclockwise a few degrees until the lever stops. Then, lift fuel tank cap (3) up without turning to remove the cap.
Remove two mounting screws (6) and two nylon washers (5) from the underside of fuel tank cap (3). Properly dispose of the mounting screws and the nylon washers.
Remove fuel tank cap breather assembly (1) and breather gasket (2) from the fuel tank cap. Properly dispose of the breather assembly and the breather gasket.
Wash the fuel tank cap in clean, nonflammable solvent.
Inspect fuel tank cap O-ring seal (4) for damage. If necessary, replace the seal.
Install a new fuel tank cap breather assembly on the fuel tank cap using the new breather gasket, nylon washers, and mounting screws that are included with the breather assembly.
Remove the strainer from the filler opening.
Wash the strainer in a clean nonflammable solvent.
Install the strainer into the filler opening.
Install the fuel tank cap.
Turn lever (7) clockwise a few degrees and lower the lever to lock the fuel tank cap in the installed position.
