When installing carbon graphite bushings, extreme care must be taken to prevent breaking. Carbon graphite is a brittle material and is easily cracked. If cracked, the bushing will quickly disintegrate. Using a lubricant and adding a chamfer on the bushing and the mating part will help in installation. The additional precautions listed below must be followed for proper installation.
Tooling (B) and a suitable press must be used for installation.
Be certain bushings (12) are started straight into section (10).
Do not stop pressing operation until bushings (12) are in proper position. Starting and stopping will result in a cracked bushings (12).
Check bushings (12) for cracks after installation.

Install O-ring seal (11) onto section (10).

Install O-ring seal (9) and pins (8) onto section (7).

Install section (7) and bolts (6). Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 68 to 74 N m (50 to 55 lb ft).

Install spring (5) and poppet (4) into relief adjustment screw (3).

Install relief adjustment screw (3), the gasket , and nut (2) to the height recorded during disassembly.
