Start By:a. remove rear drive shaftb. remove travel motorc. remove rear axles
Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants put into the system may cause rapid wear and cause shortened component life.
1. Drain oil from transmission/differential case. 2. Remove six bolts (1), three from top and three from bottom of the transmission/differential case. 3. Disconnect and plug two hydraulic lines (2) and (3) from the top of the transmission/differential case. 4. Place the transmission jack under the transmission/differential unit and secure with chain as shown. Remove remaining bolts (1) and lower transmission/differential unit. Remove hydraulic line (4). The following steps are to install the transmission/differential. 5. Place the transmission jack under the transmission/differential unit and secure with chain as shown. Install tooling (A) and coat surface (X) with 6V6640 Gasket Maker. Install hydraulic line (4) and install the transmission/differential case into axle housing.6. Install enough bolts (1) to hold the transmission/differential unit in the axle housing and remove the transmission jack. Remove tooling (A) and install remaining bolts (1). Torque bolts to 220 N m (163 lb ft).7. Connect two hydraulic lines (2) and (3).8. Fill the transmission/differential case with oil.End By:a. install rear axlesb. install travel motorc. install drive shaft
Perform Scheduled Oil Sampling on oil wetted compartments after performing service work to check for contaminants left in the compartment following repair. Contaminants put into the system may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
