Information:
Issue
Low ARD fuel pressure level 2 fault codes tripping at early hours for having some air trapped in fuel supply lines.Resolution
Developed a new ARD fuel system air purge service test. This service can be run prior to the ARD ignition test or aftertreatment system verification test. This service clears out any air in the ARD fuel lines.Issue
Current inducement software does not trigger a required inducement action. The inducement action is triggered for conditions where DEF tank level sensor is electronically faulted and DEF dosing system pressure is electronically faulted.Resolution
Updated DEF level sensor diagnostics to trigger correct inducement actions for these conditions.Issue
The HC evaporative emissions control systems regeneration is not able to run when DEF dosing is unavailable due to cold ambient temperatures.Resolution
Added HC evaporative emissions control systems regeneration to the critical regeneration list. This list allows evaporative emissions control systems to run even if DEF dosing is unavailable at the time the HC evaporative emissions control systems regeneration is requested.Issue
The DCU (aftertreatment DEF controller) was found to be logging a CAN communication diagnostic code internally that was not seen by the aftertreatment ECM. This action causes the DCU to stop dosing, purge the system and wait for the diagnostic to clear before attempting to continue dosing.Resolution
Added new diagnostic for these situations. New diagnostic added is "Aftertreatment #1 Diesel Exhaust Fluid Controller: Abnormal Update Rate" (J1939: 3360-9, CDL 3820-9)Issue
CRS priming pump stuck on detection strategy found to be missing a failure for engine off diagnostic check based on current threshold settings at 350 kPa ( ).Resolution
Changed detection strategy to open the PWM fuel valves briefly during the engine off pump stuck check so pressures seen would be greater than 350 kPa ( ) threshold and result in proper diagnostic fault code trip.Issue
Aftertreatment system functional test will not complete successfully under low fueling conditions.Resolution
Lowered the required fuel thresholds for aftertreatment system functional test and NOx sensor functional test to allow for successful completion in low load applications.Issue
Multiple fault codes on the Diesel Exhaust Fluid controller are currently factory password protected and causing additional downtime for customer and commercial OEMs.Resolution
Removed factory password protection feature on the fault codes listed in table 6.
