Be sure no one is working on or near the machine to prevent injury. Keep the machine under control at all times to prevent injury.Reduce propel speed when maneuvering in tight quarters or when breaking over a rise.Select the propel range necessary before starting downgrade. Do not change ranges while going downhill.A good practice is to use the same range going downgrade that would be used to go upgrade.Do not allow the engine to overspeed downhill. Use the service brake pedal to reduce engine overspeed going downhill.
Do not operate in the "2" (TRAVEL) speed range on slopes greater than 6%. Serious injury or death may occur.
Speed and Direction Changes
Do not move the Transmission Speed Switch without bringing the machine to a complete stop and putting the propel lever in NEUTRAL.These are restrictions on shifting the transmission up or down while the machine is in motion. Stop machine movement and position the propel lever in NEUTRAL before shifting the transmission.Always stop machine movement to change the direction of travel.For operator comfort and maximum service life of machine components, reducing propel speed is recommended when changing speed ranges with the speed range switch, or when changing the position of the front wheel assist switch (if equipped).
