Remove the front tires and rims. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim - Remove".

Loosen locknut (1). Do not remove locknut (1) at this time.

Use Tooling (A) in order to loosen the ball joint of tie rod (2) from steering housing (3).
Remove locknut (1) from tie rod (2). Separate the ball joint of tie rod (2) from steering housing (3).

Use Tooling (C) in order to raise the temperature of the joint between steering cylinder rod (4) and tie rod (2).

Use Tooling (B) in order to hold tie rod (5).
Use Tooling (B) in order to loosen tie rod (2) from steering cylinder rod (4). Turn tie rod (2) in a counterclockwise direction. Remove tie rod (2). Remove stop ring (6) and the O-ring seal.
Repeat Step 1 through Step 3 for the opposite side.

Use Tooling (C) in order to raise the temperature of the joint between steering cylinder rod (4) and tie rod (5).

Use Tooling (B) in order to hold steering cylinder rod (4).
Use Tooling (B) in order to loosen tie rod (5). Turn tie rod (5) in a counterclockwise direction. Remove stop ring (7) and the O-ring seal.
