Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the floor cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Floor Cylinder - Remove". The information is in this manual.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Put identification marks on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses and tubes. This helps prevent fluid loss and contamination of the oil system.

Loosen retaining nut (1) and disconnect hose (2) from ejector cylinder (3) . Loosen retaining nut (4) and disconnect tube (5) from ejector cylinder (3) . Remove bolt (6) and the nut from bracket (7) . Lay the tube assembly aside.

Attach a nylon lifting strap and a hoist to the ejector cylinder. Remove two bolts (8) and bar (9) from bracket (10) . Use a hammer and a brass rod to remove pin (11) from bracket (10) .

Remove two bolts (12) and bar (13) from bracket (14) . Use a hammer and a brass rod to remove pin (15) from bracket (14) . Remove the ejector cylinder from the machine. The ejector cylinder weighs 100 kg (220 lb) .Installation Procedure
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Install the ejector cylinder to the machine. The ejector cylinder weighs 100 kg (220 lb). Position the ejector cylinder to bracket (14) . Use a soft faced hammer to install pin (15) to bracket (14) . Install bar (13) and two bolts (12) to bracket (14) .

Position the ejector cylinder to bracket (10) . Use a soft faced hammer to install pin (11) to bracket (10) . Install bar (9) and two bolts (8) to bracket (10) . Remove the tooling from the ejector cylinder.

Position the tube assembly to ejector cylinder (3) . Install bolt (6) and the nut to bracket (7) . Connect tube (5) to ejector cylinder (3) and tighten retaining nut (4) . Connect hose (2) to ejector cylinder (3) and tighten retaining nut (1) .End By: Install the floor cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Floor Cylinder - Install".
