Typical Example1. Remove clamp (3) from muffler (2).2. Fasten a hoist to muffler (2). Remove strap assemblies (1) and the muffler. The weight of muffler (2) is 29 kg (64 lb).3. Fasten a hoist to muffler (4).4. Remove clamp (5) that holds the muffler to the tube assembly.5. Remove the bolts that hold strap assemblies (6) to the platform, and remove muffler (4). The weight of muffler (4) is 25 kg (55 lb). The following steps are for installation of the mufflers. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the bolt and strap assemblies.6. Fasten a hoist to muffler (4). Put muffler (4) in position on the tube assembly and platform. Install the bolts that hold strap assemblies (6) to the platform.7. Install clamp (5) to hold the muffler to the tube assembly.8. Fasten a hoist to muffler (2). Put muffler (2) in position on the elbow assembly and the platform.9. Install clamp (3) to hold the muffler to the elbow assembly.10. Install two strap assemblies (1) to hold muffler (2) in place. Tighten the nuts on the strap assemblies to a torque of 30 7 N m (22 5 lb ft).
