1 Remove the track roller frame guards, supports (1), equalizer bar (2), housing assemblies (3), plates (4), pads (5) and suspension assemblies (6); see the Service Manual. Housings (3) and plates (4) can be used again if they are not damaged. The other parts will not be needed again. Modifications must be made to saddle (7); see the step below. 2 Make four blocks (8) from 12.0 mm (.5") thick mild steel to the dimensions shown. Tack weld blocks (8) to the inside of saddle (7) at the locations shown. Make 8.0 mm (.32") fillet welds along top (A) and along the end of the block at (B). Use E7018 Welding Rods or similar electrodes to install the blocks. 3 Fasten 6T1709 Suspension Assembly (9) to each roller frame with four 1A8537 Bolts and 5P8247 Washers. Use the center hole on each side of suspension assemblies (9) as a guide to make 13.8 mmØ (.54"Ø) holes in the roller frame. Make 5/8"-11 threads in the holes. Remove the bolts from suspension assemblies (9). Put 6T956 Pads (10) in suspension assemblies (9). Put 1S2349 Plate Assemblies (11) and 7M680 Housing Assemblies (12) in position on pads (10).4 Put 6T1724 Bar Assembly (13) [for all machines except LGP models] or 6T1699 Bar Assembly [for LGP machines] in position in the saddle on the tractor frame. Install two 6T8907 Pad Assemblies (14), four 6T1710 Spacers (15), two 6T1711 Plates (16), four S1625 Bolts (17) and 5P8247 Washers to hold bar (13). Install 6T1708 Bushing (18), 1D4645 Bolt (19), 5P8250 Washer and 1B4333 Nut in each 6T1702 Support (20).5 Put supports (20) in position on each end of equalizer bar (13). Slowly lower the front of the machine until supports (20) touch suspension assemblies (9). Install six 1A8537 Bolts (21) and 5P8247 Washers in each support. Tighten bolts (17) and (21) to a torque of 270 35 N m (200 25 lb-ft). 6 For all machines except LGP models, install two 6T1719 Guards (22) on the front of the roller frames. Install the 6T1720 Guard Assembly (right side) and 6T1722 Guard Assembly (23) (left side) on the roller frames; use the original hardware.7 For LGP machines install two 6T1714 Guards (22) on the front of the roller frames. Install the 6T1715 Guard Assembly (right side) and 6T1717 Guard Assembly (23) (left side) on the roller frame; use the original hardware.
