(A) Handrail.7. Remove the mounting bolts and handrail (A).
(B) Rubber stoppers. (C) Rubber stopper and latch holder locations.8. Remove two rubber stoppers (B).9. Remove latch holders and rubber stoppers at the two locations (C) as shown. Save the stoppers and mounting hardware.10. Slide the windshield frame up until the top rollers are out of the roller guides.11. Lower the top portion of the frame into the cab and slide the lower portion up the roller guides until the lower rollers are out of the roller guides. Remove the frame from the cab.Modifying the Windshield Frame
Window frame as viewed from the operator's seat.(D) Inside of top right hand roller. 1. Spread the frame channel with a wedged tool enough to allow the feet of 1R6027 Striker Bracket (8) to slide inside. The plate (with the hole) should be located flush with the operator's side of the channel.2. Locate striker bracket (8) to the dimensions shown. Remove all paint from the weld areas prior to welding. Use shielded arc welding using a 2.0 mm (.10 in) diameter E6012 electrode. Amperage setting should be 30 to 60 Amps.3. Weld striker bracket (8) into place using 1.6 mm (.06 in) fillet welds at locations (E).Make a 1.6 mm (.06 in) flare bevel weld 20.0 mm (.78 in) long from each end at locations (F) as shown.4. Drill two 12.0 mm (.5 in) diameter holes at locations (G). Remove any burrs using a small file or grinder. 1R6027 Bracket Assembly may be used to locate the hole locations.Clean the weld areas and paint the frame to match the original color.
(H) Reference inside of top right hand roller. (J) Inside of frame channel. (9) 996624 Striker Assembly.5. Bolt the 996624 Striker Assembly (9) into position with three 997302 Set Screws (1), three 1Y0462 Washers (2), and three 950764 Nuts (3). Tighten by hand only.
(10) 1R6031 Reinforcement Plate. (11) 1R6028 Reinforcement. (R) Rear panel. Dimension Y is 40.0 mm (1.57 in). Dimension X is 42.1 mm (1.66 in) if measured from the side of the roof panel or 45.1 mm (1.78 in) if measured from the center of the roof panel.6. Locate 1R6031 Reinforcement Plate (10) and 1R6028 Reinforcement (11) to the dimensions shown. Mark the hole centers, and drill nine 11.0 mm (.40 in) diameter holes. Install plates (10) and (11) using 8T4189 Bolts (4) and 1Y0462 Washers (2). Apply sealant to fasteners as necessary to seal the cab.Windshield Frame Installation
1. Set the lower rollers into the roller guides. Slide the lower rollers forward and downward. Bring the top of the frame up and put the top rollers into the roller guides. Lower the windshield frame to the closed position. 2. Install latch holders using the original hardware. Tighten all bolts to the correct torque.3. Install rubber into position with stoppers using original hardware. Bolt the stoppers to the rail guides.4. Install the side rubber stoppers onto the windshield frame. Adjust the stops so that the right stop extends 19.0 mm (.70 in) and
