Connections at ripper cylinder
Connect hose assembly (40) to the head end of cylinder (59) with one seal (48), two flanges, four bolts (58), and four washers. Install two shields (44) between the flanges and the washers. Refer to Detail (B-B) in Illustration 5.Note: Items that are not numbered are part of the cylinder group.
Connect cylinder (59) to carriage assembly (34) with bearings (21), bolts (19), nuts (20), and washers (35). Refer to Illustration 3.
Install fittings (22) into bearings (21). Refer to Illustration 3.
Connect carriage assembly (34) to frame assembly (27) with pins (24), spacers (37), spacers (38), bolts (26), and locknuts (36). Refer to Illustration 3.Note: use spacers (37), and spacers (38) on both side of the carriage assembly as required.Note: Assemble pin (24) so that the hole will align with the hole on carriage assembly (34) .
Connect carriage assembly (34) to link assemblies (31) with pins (33), bolts (32), and locknuts (25). Refer to Illustration 3.Note: Assemble pin (33) so that the hole will align with the hole on carriage assembly (34) .
Remove the support from frame assembly (27). Raise or lower the frame assembly and the carriage assembly in order to align the hole in the cylinder rod with the hole in the frame assembly. Connect cylinder (59) to the frame assembly with pin (28), bar (29), bolts (30), and washers (35). Refer to Illustration 3.
Install fitting (22) into pin (28) .
Connect hose assemblies (40) and (41) to the ripper valve with seals (48), eight bolts, eight washers, and four flanges.Note: Items that are not numbered are part of the valve group.
Clip hoses (40) and (41) together with grommet (55), clips (56) and (57), two bolts (58), two nuts (49), and four washers (54) .
Install two grommets (46a) and (46b) onto both ends of hose assemblies (40) and (41). Install two shields (45) over the grommets and the collet. Tighten the shields to the hoses with two clamps (39). Refer to Detail (D-D) in Illustration 5.Note: Install the shields so that the shields are flush with the end of the stem assembly. The hole in the top of the shield should be facing upward.
Check all connections for leaks and repair, if necessary.
Check the oil level in the hydraulic tank and fill, if necessary. Cycle the cylinder in both directions in order to purge the air from the cylinder and from the lines. Repeat until all of the air is purged.ReferenceRefer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" and Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities" for your machine.
Install ripper shank (60) to carriage assembly (34) with pin (61) and cotter (62). Refer to Illustration 3.
