Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.Prevent possible injury by performing the procedure that follows before working on the machine.
The machine must be parked on a level surface before the parking brake is adjusted. Block the wheels of the machine in order to prevent the machine from moving when the parking brake is adjusted.
Install the steering frame lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".
Start the engine.
If the body can be raised, raise the body and install the body prop. Refer to Troubleshooting, "General Information".If the body cannot be raised, the parking brake can be accessed from a position beneath the machine.
Disengage the parking brake.

Remove plug (5) and gasket (6) from parking brake (4) .

Insert a 6mm allen wrench into parking brake (4). Turn the allen wrench in a clockwise direction until resistance is felt. The gap between two brake shoes (7) and brake disc (8) should be zero.
To set the initial running clearance, turn the allen wrench in a counterclockwise direction. You will feel a click on the allen wrench. Turn the allen wrench for eight clicks.

Use a feeler gauge to check the gap between two brake shoes (7) and brake disc (8). The running clearance between the brake shoes and the brake disc is 0.575 0.075 mm (0.023 0.003 inch) on each side of the brake disc.
If the running gap is not correct, increase or reduce the number of clicks. Refer to Steps 7 through 9.
Install plug (5) and gasket (6) .
Engage the parking brake. Lower the body. Shut off the engine.
Remove the blocks from the wheels and then remove the steering frame lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".
