Check the relief, plunger, and housing assembly for any debris. Remove any debris found and clean the parts thoroughly before installation.Note: Debris can lead to malfunctions and loss of oil pressure.
Insert the plunger as shown Illustration 1 (where spring sits on the nose of the plunger).
Apply Loctite 271 on the middle section of the plug.
Torque the plug to 110 N m (81 lb ft).This change is effective with the engines built on or after 1May 2013.The new joint is part of the following units:

293-9798 Engine Oil Pump Gp
331-8905 Engine Oil Pump As
331-8906 Engine Oil Pump Gp
