Information:

Personal injury or death can result from escaping fluid under pressure.Escaping fluid under pressure, even a very small pin-hole size leak, can penetrate body tissue and cause serious injury and possible death. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury.Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak.
Follow this procedure if the oil gauge consistently operates in the warning region (red indicator). Also, follow this procedure if the light for the oil temperature comes on.Probable Causes
The machine has been operating at stall condition.
The temperature gauge is not operating properly.
The temperature sensor is not operating properly.
The power train oil cooler core is plugged or air flow over the core is low.
The power train oil cooler has leaks.
The pressure at the torque converter inlet and the torque converter outlet relief valve is not within specifications.
The system pressure is not set to specifications.
The scavenge screen is obstructed.
The power train pump is not operating properly.
The torque converter is not operating properly.Recommended Actions
Note: Care must be taken in order to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. You must be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component that contains fluid. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations. The Machine Has Been Operating At Stall Condition
Interview the operator in order to determine if the machine has been operating at stall conditions or near stall conditions. The Temperature Gauge Is Not Operating Properly
The sensor outputs a voltage signal that corresponds to the temperature of the transmission oil. The voltage signal is input to the machine ECM. This voltage signal will vary representing changes in the temperature of the transmission oil . As the temperature of the transmission oil changes, the resistance of the sensor changes. As the resistance of the sensor changes the indicator for the transmission oil temperature in the instrument cluster will change.
Inspect the temperature sensor for proper operation.
Repair the components and/or replace the components, if necessary. The Temperature Sensor Is Not Operating Properly
