Dear Caterpillar Product Owner:
The muffler assembly and muffler ejector stack need to be replaced on the products listed below. The existing muffler and ejector stack may provide excessive pressure restriction on the machine. This could potentially reduce the service life of turbo components on the machine.
You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 04Feb2009 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure
The top hood of the machine will need to be removed for access. The muffler is attached with four bolts. Remove the muffler assembly and ejector assembly from the machine, and install the new 333-3400 Muffler Assembly and 331-9590 Ejector. Move the muffler heat shield and other items over to the new parts and reuse the clamps and hardware.
