Reduce the load on the engine. Fuel Quality
Check the fuel quality. Refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, "Fuel Quality - Test". When possible, interview the operator in order to determine if the fuel quality is questionable. Replace the fuel in the fuel tank with clean fuel if necessary. Fuel Filter
Inspect the fuel filter for debris.
Replace the fuel filter. Air Filter
Check the air filter restriction indicator for a plugged filter. If necessary, replace or clean the air filter. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for more information. Deficient Nozzle Injection
Check for proper operation of the injection nozzle. Refer to System Operation/Testing and Adjusting, "Fuel Injection Nozzle - Test" for more information.
Repair of replace the injection nozzle.
