Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the valve covers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Mechanism Cover - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Put identification marks on pushrods (4) so that pushrods (4) can be installed in the proper location.

Remove bolts (1) that hold rocker arm assembly (2). Remove the rocker arm assembly. Remove the center pushrod for the gas admission valve. Put identification marks on the rocker arm assembly so that the assembly can be installed in the proper location. Remove pushrods (4).
Remove valve bridges (3). Identify the location of each valve bridge so that valve bridges (3) can be installed in the proper location.
Inspect the bore of each valve bridge for wear. Ensure that the lubrication passage in the bridge is not restricted.

Inspect bridge dowels (5) for wear. If removal of the bridge dowel is necessary, refer to the Disassembly And Assembly, "Cylinder Head - Disassemble" section of this manual.
