There have been some reports of higher than expected soot levels in the engine oil lubricating oil in certain engines.Several reports have also shown an increase in iron that indicates accelerated wear. The increases in iron and soot levels are considered normal for this engine type.The wear table has been updated to include specific information for certain application that has the C7.1 (Mechanical) engine installed. Continue to utilize S O S oil analysis at regularly scheduled intervals to monitor the condition of the engine.
