Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".

Remove bolts (1) and open grill assemblies (2).

Remove bolts (3) and remove baffles (4).

Disconnect hose (5).
Remove bolts (6) to disconnect elbow (7).
Loosen clamp (9).
Remove three bolts (8) to remove housing (10).

Remove bolts (11).
Remove bolts (12) to remove water pump (13).Installation Procedure

Position water pump (13) and install bolts (12).
Install bolts (11).

Position housing (10) and install bolts (8).
Tighten clamp (9) to a torque of 11 N m (97 lb in).
Position elbow (7) and install bolts (6).
Connect hose (5). Tighten the clamp to a torque of 11 N m (97 lb in).

Position baffles (4) and install bolts (3).

Close grill assemblies (2) and install bolts (1).
Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
