Remove the camshaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Camshaft - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove bolts (1) , thrust plate (2) , and idler gear (3) .

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to remove the bearing from idler gear (3) .
