The rear harness routing needs to be modified to move the harness slack to the rear of the machine. This will prevent the harness slack from walking toward the front of the machine. This requires inspecting the machine to determine if a boss is present in the center section of the machine. If it is not, this boss must be added. The harness must be p-clipped in the center of the machine. This also includes adding several tie straps in certain areas. The 260-2019 wiring harness is used on the 545C and the 255-8110 wiring harness is used on the 525C and 535C.

Rework Procedure
The purpose of the letter is to update the harness routing so that the harness slack is routed away from the drive shaft and into the U channel area of the fuel tank. For the harness to be routed properly, it must be clipped in the correct location. This will avoid potential contact with the drive shaft and allow the harness to flex properly during machine articulation.
The procedure for removing the wiring harness slack is the same for all C-Series Wheel Skidders.

The first step is to determine if the boss that the harness is to be clipped to is present in the center section area of the machine. The boss is located inside the rear frame, below the triangular cutout in the top rear frame plate. The function of the boss is to secure the wiring harness where the bundle of hoses routes into the rear frame. If the boss is not present, add the boss in the location shown below.

Next, remove the guarding above the grapple valve. Inspect the tie strap securing the wiring harness to the ladder clip that is bolted to the corner of the valve bank. The tie strap should be located approximately 1 inch from the end of the electrical tape. If the harness is not secured similarly to the photo below, remove the old tie strap and install a new one in the described location. This is done so that you can measure the harness properly.

P-clipping the harness in the center section in the correct location is critical. This will provide enough slack for the harness to flex normally and also prevent the harness from walking forward with repeated machine articulation.
There are two ways to measure the correct p-clipping location on the harness.
Method 1:
Loosely install the bracket, p-clip, bolt and washer to the harness. Pull the harness taught toward the FRONT of the machine. Next, mark the harness at the existing location at the p-clip. Slide the harness back
