1. Use tool (A), and remove three filter assemblies (4) from the oil filter base.2. Remove the bolts that hold elbows (2) and (3) to the oil filter base. Move the elbows away from the oil filter base.3. Fasten a hoist and tool (B) to oil filter base (1). Remove the bolts that hold oil filter base (1) to the engine. Remove the oil filter base from the engine. The weight of the oil filter base is 32 kg (70 lb). The following steps are for installation of the oil filter base.4. Fasten a hoist and tool (B) to oil filter base (1). Put the oil filter base in position on the engine, and install the bolts that hold it.5. Put new gaskets and elbows (2) and (3) in position on the end of the oil filter base. Install the bolts that hold them in place.6. Put clean oil on the seals of filter assemblies (4), and install the filter assemblies. Follow the instructions on the filter assemblies.7. Fill the engine with oil to the correct level. Typical Example1. Remove the bolts and support (2) from oil filter base assemblies (1).
Typical Example2. Remove cover (6), spring (5) and plunger (4) from each of the base assemblies.3. Remove elbow (3) from base assemblies (1).4. Remove the bolts that hold base assemblies (1) together, and separate the base assemblies.5. If necessary, remove the stud from each of the base assemblies. The following steps are for assembly of the oil filter base.6. If the studs were removed from base assemblies (8), put 9S3263 Thread Lock on the tapered end of the studs for a distance of 10.2 1.5 mm (.40 .06 in). Install the studs in the base assemblies, and tighten them to a torque of 80 14 N m (60 10 lb ft).7. Put the gaskets in position between base assemblies (1). Install the bolts that hold them together.8. Put the gasket and elbow (3) in position on the base assemblies, and install the bolts that hold them.9. Install plunger (4) and spring (5) in each of the base assemblies.10. Put the gaskets and covers (6) in position, and install the bolts that hold them.11. Put support (2) in position on base assemblies (1), and install the bolts that hold it in place.End By:a. install oil filter base
