Component Code: 1408SUBJECT: Main Cab Harness Failure on Medium Wheel Loaders
PROBLEM:
Harness failures (228-1584 and 206-5015) have been reported due to rubbing at the edge of the cab cover and rubbing at the control pod rail. This rubbing can occur when the seat position or the control pod position is adjusted. See Illustration 1.
SOLUTION:
Under the following conditions, check the harness for signs of wear or for broken wires:
The implement pod levers are not functional
Service codes are logged for the implement pod lever position sensors (CID 352, CID 353)
Service codes are logged for the implement pod lever detents (CID 359, CID 360, CID 361)
Repair the harness if necessary. Adjust the harness routing in order to avoid rubbing.
