Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting sling on both ends of oscillating axle (20) .
Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the mounting surfaces of the front trunnion support and the rear trunnion support. Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the eight support bolts.

Raise the oscillating axle into position. The weight of the oscillating axle is 2220 kg (4900 lb).
Install four nuts (19) and the washers that hold rear trunnion support (13) to the rear loader frame. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 1000 125 N m (740 90 lb ft).

Install four nuts (18) and the washers that hold front trunnion support (15) to the rear loader frame. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 1000 125 N m (740 90 lb ft).Note: Install wood blocks between the rear axle housing and the rear main frame on both sides of the machine. This will prevent the axle housing from oscillating during the installation procedure.

Connect fitting (17) to the front, right side of the oscillating axle.

Connect fitting (16) to the front, left side of the oscillating axle.

Connect grease tube (14) to the top of front trunnion support (15) .

Connect grease tube (12) to the top of rear trunnion support (13) .
Fill the oscillating axle. The capacity of the oscillating axle is 87 L (23 US gal). For the correct procedure, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the machine that is being serviced.Note: If equipped, follow Steps 11 through 22 for the installation of the rear guards to the 826G Landfill Compactor.

Secure support (10) to a suitable floor jack.
Use the floor jack to carefully install plate (9) and support (10). The combined weight of the plate and support is 43 kg (95 lb).
Install eight bolts (11) and the washers.

Secure lower rear guard (8) to a suitable floor jack.
Use the floor jack to carefully install lower rear guard (8). The weight of the lower rear guard is 45 kg (99 lb).

Use two people to carefully install upper rear guard (3). The weight of the upper rear guard is 45 kg (99 lb).
Install two bolts (6) and the washers.
Install six bolts (5) and the washers.
Install four bolts (4) and the washers on each side of the rear guard.
Install two plates (2) .
Install eight bolts (1), the washers and eight nuts (7) .
Repeat Steps 11 through 21 for the installation of the other rear guards.End By:
Install the side panels. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Side Panels - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the crankcase guard. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankcase Guard - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the rear drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Rear) - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the rear tires and rims or install the compactor wheels. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim (Rear) - Remove and Install" or Disassembly and Assembly,
