The part numbers, part names, and functions of several service tools for 3618 Engines are listed in Table 1 through Table 2.The list includes the minimum tooling that is required for servicing 3618 Engines. In addition to the list, a full set of hand tools is also required.Many of the tools that are listed must be used in conjunction with other tools. Instructions for use of the tools are provided with some of the tools. For more detailed descriptions of the tools and the use of the tools, see the instructions. 1     4C-6594     Timing and Fuel Setting Tool     The tool is used for testing and adjusting of injector synchronization. The fuel timing dimension can also be measured and adjusted with this tool.    
1     4C-6173     Fuel Drain Tray     The tray is used for draining fuel filters.    
1     4C-9041     Cylinder Installation Tool     This tool provides a method of attaching a hoist for removal and installation of the cylinder assembly, cylinder liner, piston and connecting rod assembly.

3     3J-5390     Plug     The 3/8-18 NPTF pipe plugs are used with the 8T-5206 Manifold.    
3     1P-2375     Quick Connect Coupler     The male coupler is used with all Caterpillar hydraulic service tools.    
4     1P-2376     Quick Connect Coupler     The female coupler is used with all Caterpillar hydraulic service tools.    
1     2P-5534     Thread Tap     The 1/2 inch NPTF thread tap is used for cleaning internal threads for the manual valves.    
1     5P-4773     Torque Wrench Adapter     The adapter has a 1/2 inch drive and a 5/8 inch box end with 12 points.    
1     8T-0890     Puller Group     The puller is used for removing the rotor covers from centrifugal oil filters.    
2     8T-0914     Guide Pin     The pins are used for alignment and support of the flywheel and the support assembly for the rear gear during removal and installation. The pins are also used for removal and installation of the vibration damper.    
1     8T-2681     Main Bearing Driver     The driver is for help in the removal and installation of the main bearings.    
1     8T-3029     Camshaft Support     The support holds camshaft segments during removal and installation.
