Remove the front idler gears. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Idler Gears (Front) - Remove".
Remove the crankshaft front seal. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Front Seal - Remove".
Remove the fuel transfer pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Transfer Pump - Remove".
Remove the priority valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Priority Valve - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "General Information (Reference Material)" for more information.
Drain the engine oil from the engine oil pan to a level that is below the outlet elbow into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil - Change".
Remove the oil suction tube.
Remove the oil supply tube that is between the prelubrication oil pump and the oil distribution tee.
Remove the bolts that hold the engine oil pan to the bottom of the front housing.

Remove sleeve (1) and the connector from the front housing. Remove the O-ring seals from the connector.
Remove sleeve (2) from the front housing.

Remove bolts (5) from the inside of front housing (3) .
Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to the top of front housing (3). The weight of front housing (3) is approximately 258 kg (569 lb).
Remove four bolts (4) and install Tooling (B) in the cylinder block. Remove remaining bolts (4) from the outside of front housing (3) .
Remove bolts (6) from the outside of front housing (3). Carefully move the front housing along Tooling (B). Remove front housing (3) .
Remove gasket (7) from the front of the cylinder block.

If necessary, remove tube assembly (8) from front housing (3) .
