Pull the 390-9969 Connector from the 378-1026 Panel Harness As (Connection L-C23) and plug the Rocker Switch (16) onto the 390-9969 Connector.
Insert the Rocker Switch As. connection through the newly open slot on the 421-0283 Console As until the tabs on the Switch engage into place. Refer to Illustration 27.Ensure that the connection corresponds to the one in the table below.

Locate the 345-6144 Cover As from the Relay and Fuse Panel on the Rear Cab Liner near the right-hand side of the machine. Remove Cover As. and retain.

Install relay (9) onto the fourth position R4 of the lower Fuse and Relay Panel. Reinstall the Cover As.Configuring the Ride Control Feature
Note: Ensure that the Machine ECM has the latest software available installed. The Ride Control feature requires latest software mentioned under 361-6395 Machine Electronic Control Module .
To enable the Ride Control feature in the Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) Service Tool, connect the appropriate communication device onto the communication port inside the fuse panel.Note: Cat ET Service Tool 2015A
With the engine stopped, switch the engine start switch to ON. Then, open the Cat ET Service tool.

(A) Select "Service"
(B) Select "Machine Configuration"
Select "Service" (A) from the toolbar. Then, select "Machine Configuration" (B) from the drop-down menu. Refer to Illustration 30.

Change the "Ride Control System Installation Status" from "Not Installed" to "Installed" as shown in Illustrations 31

The Cat ET Service Tool will bring up a password screen and display the required information to retrieve a password. Refer to Illustration 33.

Click the https://fps.cat.com link on the Cat ET Service Tool screen to access the Cat Factory Password System (FPS). Enter the required information on the corresponding fields to obtain and record the password. Refer to Illustration .
The Ride Control feature should now be enabled. Turn the engine start switch to OFF for at least 30 seconds. Then, turn the engine start switch back ON. The Ride Control feature should be activated in the next power cycle.

(D) Ensure that status is set to "Installed"
Return to the "Machine Configuration" option of the Cat ET Service Tool screen and ensure that the "Ride Control System Installation Status" is set to "Installed".
