(6) Filter outlet line Charge filter (1) for the installed spray system is located behind the steps on the right side of the machine.Note: When the machine is equipped with an emulsion spray system and water spray system, charge filter (1) serves as the filter for both systems. Charge oil from port "FE" of the emulsion spray system pump flows through filter inlet line (2) of the charge filter (1). This oil is filtered and returned through filter outlet line (6) to port "G" of the pump.The housing at the base of the charge filter contains filter bypass switch (4). If the pressure differential across the switch is greater than 340 kPa (49 psi), the bypass valve opens. When the bypass valve opens, charge oil is returned directly back to the emulsion spray pump. S O S tap (3) provides a means of obtaining prefiltered oil samples upstream of charge filter (1). Pressure tap (5) can be used to measure pump pressure downstream of the filter.

(11) Nozzles The spray bar cylinder (7) is located above the mixing chamber. This cylinder controls recirculation valve (9) through a mechanical connection (8).Spray bar cylinder (7) controls nozzles (11) on spray bar (10) and return valve (9) through mechanical connection (8). When the rod of the spray bar cylinder is extended, the nozzles open and the return valve is closed. When the rod of the spray bar cylinder is retracted, the nozzles close, and the return valve opens.When the return valve is open, emulsion is sent to the recirculation valve. The position of the recirculation valve determines the direction of return emulsion flow. The RETURN position of the valve sends unused emulsion back to the supply truck. The RECIRCULATE position of the valve sends unused emulsion back to the supply side of the system.Sixteen nozzles (11) are evenly spaced along spray bar (10). Individual nozzles can be manually closed in order to change the width of the spray bar.
