a signal from the service height sensor. The auto stop sensor detects the presence of a metal bracket which moves with the rear leg. The air gap between the sensor and the metal bracket must be less than 31.75 mm (1.25 inch) over the range of motion of the bracket when the machine is at the auto stop position. Note: If the auto stop indicator on the controller fails to illuminate when the rear of the machine is at the auto stop position, then use this troubleshooting procedure in order to correct the problem. The auto stop sensor circuit of the machine harness consists of the following components:
Power (+battery) is wire 106-WH from the circuit breaker.
The ground is wire J764-BR (J1-16).
Normally closed sensor signal is wire J794-YL (J2-4).
Normally open sensor signal is wire J795-PU. This wire goes to the coil of the auto stop relay. The possible causes of a CID 0922 FMI 02 are listed below:
A CID 0923 FMI 02 diagnostic code is present. Resolve the CID 0923 FMI 02 before troubleshooting a CID 0922 FMI 02 diagnostic code.
The auto stop sensor needs adjustment.
A poor electrical connection exists at the machine harness connector of the ECM or of the sensor.
The signal wire from the auto stop sensor (J794-YL) is shorted to ground.
The signal wire from the auto stop sensor (J794-YL) is shorted to +battery.
The signal wire from the auto stop sensor (J794-YL) is open.
The auto stop sensor is faulty.
The ECM is faulty. This is unlikely. The system response to this level three diagnostic code is listed below:
The diagnostic code indicator flashes.
The alarm beeps.
The readouts show the word "FAULT".
The elevation of the machine cannot be changed. Service Notes: Before proceeding with this CID 0922 FMI 02 diagnostic code, check if a CID 0923 FMI 02 diagnostic code is present. Perform the CID 0923 FMI 02 procedure first. Resolution of a CID 0923 FMI 02 diagnostic code could resolve a CID 0922 FMI 02 diagnostic code.
Inspect Sensor, Mounting And Air Gap. For this entire troubleshooting procedure, the elevation of the rear of the machine must be at the auto stop position. Secure the machine from motion.
Turn the key start switch and the grade/slope switch to the ON position.
Inspect the auto stop sensor. Ensure that the front face (sensing face) of the sensor is not scored or grooved. If the front face has been scored or if the face is damaged, replace the sensor.
Inspect the metal bracket which actuates the sensor. Ensure that the bracket is secure and undamaged.
Check the air gap between the front face of the sensor and the surface of the actuating bracket. The air gap should be from 0.040 to 0.125 inches. Ensure that the air gap is sufficient to prevent scoring
