Parking Brake
Move the lever forward to release the parking brake. Move the lever to the rear to engage the parking brake.Service Brake
Service Brake Pedal - Push down the service brake pedal to slow or stop the machine.Front Brake
Front Brake - With the lever to the left and the service brake pedal engaged, front and rear brakes will apply.With the lever to the right and the service brake pedal engaged, only the rear brake will apply.
Do not use the front brakes on long steep downgrades. Overheating may occur, causing reduced service life of the front brake components.
Secondary Brake (Red Lever)
If the brake air pressure gauge (2) indicates service brake pressure is lost, pull the secondary brake lever (1) down and hold to apply the secondary brake. Release the secondary brake lever. It will return to the OFF position. Hold the lever down until the machine stops.Retarder
Do not use the retarder as a parking brake.
Pull the retarder lever down to apply the rear brakes. Push the lever up to release the brakes. The control lever position determines the amount of braking. The further down the control is pulled, the greater the braking effort.Accelerator
The accelerator pedal controls the fuel flow to the engine. The further the pedal is pushed to the floor, the higher the rpm.Transmission Selector Lever
The transmission selector lever controls the forward, neutral or reverse transmission speeds. Shift into reverse only with the machine stopped.
