PROBLEM
The existing mass air flow sensor may have been assembled incorrectly on certain 272D Skid Steer Loaders and 299D Compact Track Loaders. If the existing sensor is oriented incorrectly, its emissions performance will be reduced.

ACTION REQUIRED
Check the orientation of the mass air flow sensor, which is located directly beneath the engine air filter housing. Refer to Image1. The orientation of the sensor should be 50 +/- 10 degrees from the horizontal, as shown in Image2. If the orientation is found to be outside this range, loosen the two hose clamps retaining the sensor, and rotate the sensor until you achieve the proper orientation. Once complete, tighten the clamps.
The air cleaner housing may need to be removed in order to allow for easier access. Refer to UENR2328, Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Cleaner - Remove and Install", for the specific instructions.
