This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS0763" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This program does not cover piston crown failures resulting from a piston seizure.

The existing 6I2862 or 9Y7027 Piston Crown Assemblies may develop cracks in the saddle area towards the oil hole causing the piston crown struts around the piston pin to break, or may fail the bronze bushing resulting in reduced engine service life on certain 793 and 793B Trucks.

This program also applies to 793 replacement engines 54Z1-1042 and 6CL1-100 with a 9Y8881 Arrangement and to 793B replacement engines 2PK1-472 and 7CL1-86 with a 7E6499 Arrangement.
Parts Needed
16 - 6I2863 Piston Skirt*16 - 1140382 Piston Crown Assembly*The 6I2863 Piston Skirts are only needed if the piston crown assemblies that are being replaced are 9Y7027 Piston Crown Assemblies.The 9Y7028 and/or 4P1658 Piston Skirts attached to 9Y7027 Piston Crown Assemblies will not fit on the new 1140382 Piston Crown Assemblies.Action Required
If a failure occurs, replace all sixteen existing piston assemblies with sixteen new piston crown assemblies.
