Fully extend the extenders.
Shut off the engine.
Allow ample time for the screed plate to cool.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Remove the rear access cover.

Disconnect harness assembly (1).
Cut two cable straps (2).
Use Tooling (A) to remove temperature sensor (screed) (3) from the screed plate.
Repeat Step 5 through Step 8 for the temperature sensor (screed) on the opposite side.Extender
Fully extend the extenders.
Shut off the engine.
Allow ample time for the screed plate to cool.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Use Tooling (A) to remove temperature sensor (screed) (5) from the screed plate.
Repeat Step 1 through Step 6 for the temperature sensor (screed) on the opposite side.Installation Procedure
Install temperature sensor (screed) (5) and temperature sensor (screed) (3) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of temperature sensor (screed) (5) and temperature sensor (screed) (3).
Tighten temperature sensor (screed) (5) and temperature sensor (screed) (3) with Tooling (A) to a torque of 30 5 N m (266 44 lb in).
