To convert a design file with a plane that is associated with the design, complete the following steps:
Select the design file that will be converted in METSmanager.
From the "File" menu, select "Convert to CAT File". The following dialog appears:

Select the type of plane that will be defined. The choices include the following:
Plane Limits Top
Plane Limits BottomNote: The green areas that are in the dialog represent the design surface.
Perform one of the following actions:
Click Next in order to use custom settings of METSmanager to convert the design file.
Click "Finish" if the Graphical File Converter is being used.Note: Planes are only valid when design files are converted to Elevation Designs.For more information on converting files by using the Graphical File Converter, refer to Systems Operation, "Graphical File Converter ".Move Design
When a *.dxf file is being converted to a *.cat file, an option appears for the machine operator. By using this option, the machine operator can orient the design file. The operator can also change the position of the design file. In order to allow this option, ensure that the "Operator May Move Design" option is enabled in the "Convert File to a CAT File". Continue with the conversion as normal.The point of rotation for the file will be set to the default location in the middle of the left side of the box around the design.Checking the Enable Status
Perform the following steps in order to check the enable status of the "Move Design" option for a file:
Highlight the file in the list.
Open the "File" drop-down menu.
Select "Properties" from the "File" drop-down menu. The File Properties window appears.
Select the "CAT File Properties" Tab. The "CAT File Properties" dialog which is shown in 3 appears.

Ensure that the status of the "Operator Can Move" option is "Yes". If the "Operator Can Move" option is set to "No", then the design cannot be moved.Transfer to Machine
Select "File" and then select "Transfer to Machine" in order to place the selected files in the queue for the transfer to a machine.This operation transfers the selected design from the software that is used to plan the site to a machine. This allows the CAESultra onboard software to provide the machine operator with guidance in real time.The files can be sent before the files are required. The files can be activated on the machine at a later time. The design must be created before the file is sent. The file could be created in the software that is used to plan the site. The file can be exported as any of the following:
DXF
ASCII Material Grade
