Assembly Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision component. Perform assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

Use the following procedure to assemble pressure compensator valve (19) .
Install O-ring seal (29) on cap (30) .
Install O-ring seal (32) on metering pin (28) .
Install metering pin (28) in cap (30) .

Install O-ring seal (25), backup ring (24) and O-ring seal (23) on plug (26). Install plug (26) in end cap (15). Tighten the plug to a torque of 61 7 N m (45 5 lb ft).
Install O-ring seal (27) on plug (22). Install spool (20), spring (21) and plug (22) in end cap (15). Tighten the plug to a torque of 61 7 N m (45 5 lb ft).
Install pressure compensator valve (19) in end cap (15). Tighten the pressure compensator valve to a torque of 15 1 N m (11 1 lb ft).
Install dowel pin (18) in end cap (15) .

Install O-ring seal (17) on end cap (15) .
Install dowel pin (16) in housing (8) .

Install housing (8) on the end cap and the dowel pins.
Install driven gear (14), drive gear (9) and pressure plate (13) in housing (8) .
Install seals (10) and (11) in mounting flange (6). Install O-ring seal (12) in mounting flange (6) .

Install mounting flange (6) on the housing. Install four bolts (5) and four bolts (7). Tighten the eight bolts to a torque of 61 7 N m (45 5 lb ft).

Install the gasket and adapter (4) on the mounting flange.

Install gasket (3) on the adapter.
Install gear (2) on the drive gear. Install nut (1). Tighten the nut to a torque of 130 14 N m (96 10 lb ft).End By: Install the steering pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Steering) - Install".
