Remove the flywheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Support the engine on a flat level surface forward of the flywheel housing.

Attach Tool (A) and a suitable lifting device to flywheel housing (2) .
Remove bolts (1) from the flywheel housing.
Remove flywheel housing (2) from the engine. It may be necessary to hit flywheel housing (2) with a soft faced hammer in order to slide the flywheel housing off the dowels.Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Make sure that the rear face of the cylinder block and the faces of the flywheel housing are clean and free from damage.

Attach Tool (A) and a suitable lifting device to flywheel housing (2) .
Put flywheel housing (2) in position on the cylinder block. The dowels in the cylinder block must be aligned with the dowel holes in the flywheel housing.
Install bolts (1) and tighten the bolts evenly to a torque of 78 N m (58 lb ft).
Remove the lifting device and Tool (A) from the engine.End By: Install the flywheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel - Install".
