(16) Put the boom in position over the track motors. Hydraulically lift the boom to the maximum height. Disconnect boom cylinder rod end hoses (26) and (27) from tubes (28) and let the hoses hang down. Do not connect these hoses together. (17) Use the procedure in the Operator's Guide to lower the boom with the engine off. Lower the boom until the bucket linkage is on the ground. Remove plug (29) from each boom cylinder tube. When all the oil has run out of the cylinders, install and tighten plug (29). (18) Disconnect hoses (30) and (31) from the boom cylinder head end tubes (32) and (33). On 215, 225 and 235 machines, connect hose (26) to hose (30) and connect hose (27) to hose (31). Use the original flanges, bolts (D) and connector plate (E) to make these connections. (19) On 245 machines, remove hoses (26) and (27) from the machine. Loosen hoses (30) and (31) enough so they can be turned. Connect hose (26) to hose (30) and connect hose (27) to hose (31) with connector plates (E) and bolts (D); use the former flanges. Connect hoses (26) and (27) to their former position. Tighten bolts (D) and all loose hardware.(20) Install rubber plugs (G) in all the openings on the bucket stick and boom cylinders. See the chart on pages (4) and (5) for the correct size plugs. Release the pressure inside the hydraulic tank. (21) On 215, 225 and 245 machines, disconnect hoses (34) and (35) from swing motor (36). Loosen the opposite end of hoses (34) and (35). Fasten hoses (34) and (35) together with connector plate (E), bolts (D) and the original flanges. Tighten all the loose bolts. (22) On 235 machines, disconnect swing motor lines (37) and (38) at the inlet side of swing relief valve (39). Use 8K3219 Hose Assembly (H), two connectors (E), bolts (D) and the original flanges plus two flanges (A) to connect hoses (37) and (38) together. Install rubber plugs (G) in both swing relief valve openings. (23) On 215, 235 and 245 machines, remove the track motor guards, if so equipped. Disconnect hoses (40), (41), (42) and (43) from track motors (44). (24) Use hose assemblies (H), connector plates (E), flanges (A) and bolts (D) to connect hoses (40) and (41) and hoses (42) and (43) together, respectively. On 235 Excavators before serial number 32K369, the hydraulic lines between the swivel and the track motors were tube assemblies. The tube assemblies must be changed to hose assemblies before the hydraulic system can be flushed. See page 7 of November 4, 1974 Service Magazine for the parts needed to make the conversion. (25) On 225 Excavators, remove the track guards and disconnect hoses (45) and (46) at the track motors. Loosen the bolts that connect hoses (47) and (48) to blocks (49) and (50), respectively. Remove blocks (49) and (50) from the track motors. Use connector plates (E), bolts (D) and the
