The AccuGrade System is designed to work with the MS980C GPS receiver. Before contacting your dealer or Caterpillar, make sure of the following.
You have a MS980C GPS receiver with the correct firmware. Do one of the following in order to check this. - Perform the tests for the receiver. Refer to Systems Operation, RENR8083, "Receiver Test" for more information. - Use the MS CAN Controller software. Refer to Systems Operation, RENR8083, "Receiver Front Panel Emulator" for more information.
Data is received from the GPS receiver.

However, when you talk about the problem with your site manager or Caterpillar dealer, consider the following possible causes:Poor Technique - Cutting too fast, trying to move too much material, or causing the machine to move awkwardly are the most significant cause of poor results. Poor Technique can extend the system beyond its design limits. Some common examples include the following:
Changing the angle of an excavator tilt bucket while the excavator is rotating quickly. This can result in inaccurate guidance until the bucket is stationary for a few moments.
Cutting a rough surface with a dozer at too high a speed. This can result in a rippled or wavey final surface.
Cutting a surface with a grader when the machine is bouncing or duckwalking. This can result in an uneven final surface.
