Description of Change: Air that enters the fuel system could result in a hard starting condition of the engine. If the primary fuel filter is not tightened properly, air bubbles could pass by the inner seal and the air bubbles could migrate to the fuel transfer pump. According to the specification, the filter must be turned for an additional one turn after first full contact to the filter base, in order to ensure a proper seal. The primary fuel filter must be tightened to the specification. Adaptable To: In order to increase the effectiveness of the seal, a new O-ring face seal can be installed. The 6V-3683 O-Ring Seal may be used in place of the original 326-4167 Rectangular Seal. The improved seal is 1 mm (0.039 inch) thicker than the current seal.
