Remove the exhaust manifold shields.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Remove housings (1) then remove bellows (3) .
Remove exhaust adapters (2) .
Disconnect oil drain tube assembly (4) from the turbocharger. Remove the gasket.

Remove bolts (6) from exhaust manifold bellows. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (5) .
Remove bolts (7) and then remove the turbocharger (5). The weight of the turbocharger (5) is approximately 840.0 kg (1850.00 lb)
Repeat steps 5 and 6 for the remaining turbocharger.Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (5). Position the turbocharger (5) and install bolts (6). The weight of the turbocharger (5) is approximately 840.0 kg (1850.00 lb).
Install bolts (7) .
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the remaining turbocharger.

Install the exhaust adapters (2) .
