No Reuse and Salvage references are published for the ring gauge tools required for the new square ring grooves (top groove and second groove) in new pistons used with the "Cuffed Liner". Pistons with square ring grooves: 481-5615, 481-5617, 448-0574, and 515-8426.Solution
Refer to Reuse And Salvage Guidelines, SEBF9179, Specifications for Pistons, Rings, and Piston Pins for C175 Engines and use the 510-5864 Piston Ring Groove Gauge for the top ring, and 327-8645 Piston Ring Groove Gauge for the second ring on 3500 pistons using the square ring grooves. The oil control ring has not changed from previous 3500 engines.
