Track Drive Pump
(1) Reverse drive test port. (2) Forward drive test port.1. Apply the parking brake.2. Remove the plugs from test ports (1) and (2), and install a 60 000 kPa (8700 psi) pressure gauge in each of the test ports.
Main Relief Valve And Pressure Override Valve Pressure Test
(3) Pressure override valve. (4) Reverse drive main relief valve. (5) Forward drive main relief valve.3. Loosen the jam nuts on main relief valves (4) and (5). Turn the adjusting screws counterclockwise until the spring tension is completely relieved, then turn both adjusting screws clockwise one full turn.4. Remove the cover from the adjusting screw for pressure override valve (3). Loosen the jam nut, and turn the adjusting screw for the pressure override valve clockwise until firm resistance is encountered. Do not force the adjustment beyond this point.5. Start and run engine B (ground drive engine) at 2800 rpm.6. Make sure the parking brake selector is at the ON position.
To prevent overheating of the track drive pump, complete the adjustment of the forward and reverse main relief valves as quickly as possible. Flow should not be allowed to spill over the main relief valves for longer than 10 seconds.
7. Move the travel lever forward (forward travel) to set the track drive pump at approximately 20% of maximum displacement. Turn the adjusting screw on forward drive main relief valve (5) so that the reading on the pressure gauge at forward drive test port (2) is 34 500 to 38 000 kPa (5000 to 5500 psi). Hold the adjusting screw and tighten the jam nut.8. Move the travel lever to the neutral position.9. Move the travel lever rearward (reverse travel) to set the track drive pump at approximately 20% of maximum displacement. Turn the adjusting screw on reverse drive main relief valve (4) so that the reading on the pressure gauge at reverse drive test port (1) is 34 500 to 38 000 kPa (5000 to 5500 psi). Hold the adjusting screw and tighten the jam nut.10. Move the travel lever to the neutral position.11. Turn the adjusting screw for pressure override valve (3) counterclockwise all the way out.12. Move the travel lever all the way forward (maximum forward travel).13. Turn the adjusting screw for pressure override valve (3) clockwise so that the reading on the pressure gauge at forward drive test port (2) is 3450 kPa (500 psi) less than the forward drive main relief valve setting recorded during Step 7. Hold the adjusting screw and tighten the jam nut.14. Move the travel lever to the neutral position.15. Move the travel lever all the way rearward (maximum reverse travel).16. Check the reading on the pressure gauge at reverse drive test port (1). The pressure reading should be 3450 kPa (500 psi) less than the reverse drive main relief valve setting recorded during Step 9.17. Stop engine B and install the cover on the adjusting screw for pressure override valve (3). Remove the pressure gauges from test ports (1) and (2) and
