Schematic of the ripper auto stow switchThis diagnostic code is recorded when the implement ECM reads the signal from the ripper auto stow switch as being incorrect. The signal that is being received by the ECM is changing at a faster rate or a slower rate than the ECM expected. The rate of change is outside the expected limits. However, this value is not outside the maximum value or the minimum value. The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
The switch has failed.
An intermittent open in the circuit
An intermittent short in the circuit
The ECM has failed. This is unlikely.Note: Ensure that CID 0881 FMI 10 is active. The following procedure can cause new diagnostic codes to be recorded. Ignore these created diagnostic codes. When the procedure is completed, clear the created diagnostic codes.Test Step 1. CHECK FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the J1 machine harness connector from the ECM.
At the J1 machine harness connector, measure the resistance from contact J1-55 (wire J930-PK) to contact J1-9 (wire J764-BR) with the switch in the normally open position. The switch is pressed.
At the J1 machine harness connector, measure the resistance from contact J1-54 (wire J929-YL) to contact J1-9 (wire J764-BR) with the switch in the normally closed position. The switch is not pressed.Expected Result:The resistance should be less than 5 ohms for each measurement. Results:
YES - The resistance is less than 5 ohms for each measurement. Proceed to test step 3.
NO - The resistance is not less than 5 ohms for one or both measurements. The harness or the switch has failed. Proceed to test step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE RESISTANCE OF THE SWITCH.
The key start switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
The J1 connector remains disconnected.
Disconnect the machine harness from the switch.
Place the switch in the normally open position. Measure the resistance of the switch from contact B (J930-PK) to contact C (J764-BR) of the connector for the switch. The switch is pressed.
Place the switch in the normally close position. Measure the resistance of the switch from contact A (wire J929-YL) to contact C (wire J764-BR) of the connector for the switch. The switch is not pressed.Expected Result:The resistance measurement should be less than 5 ohms for each measurement. Results:
OK - The resistance for each measurement is less than 5 ohms. The switch is correct.Repair: The machine harness has failed. Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOP
NOT OK - The resistance is not less than 5 ohms for one or both measurements.Repair: The switch has failed. Replace the switch. Verify that the new switch corrects the problem.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK FOR A SHORT.
The key start switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
The J1 connector remains disconnected.
The switch remains disconnected from the machine harness.
Disconnect the J2 machine harness connector from the ECM.
At the J1 machine harness connector, measure the resistance from contact J1-54 and contact J1-55 to all other J1 and J2
