Schematic of the blade control handleThis diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM reads the signal wire of the blade control handle (wireH711-GN) as being shorted to ground. The tilt signal is a PWM signal. The signal wire of the blade control handle (wire H711-GN) connects to contact J1-3 of the ECM connector. The possible causes of the diagnostic code are listed:
The harness is shorted.
The blade control handle has failed.
The ECM has failed. This is unlikely.System Response:The machine response is a loss of all functions of blade tilt.Note: Ensure that the CID 1079 FMI 04 is active.Note: The following procedure can create numerous related diagnostic codes. When all harnesses are reconnected, the related diagnostic codes will be shown as being not active. Clear all related diagnostic codes after this procedure is completed.Test Step 1. CHECK THE BLADE CONTROL HANDLE.
Ensure that the CID 1079 FMI 04 is active.
Disconnect the machine harness from the blade control handle.
Observe the status of the diagnostic code.Expected Result:The diagnostic code is no longer active. Results:
YES - The diagnostic code is no longer active. Repair: The blade control handle has failed. Replace the blade control handle. See Troubleshooting, "Calibration".STOP
NO - The diagnostic code is active. The blade control handle is not causing the diagnostic code. Proceed to test step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE HARNESS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND.
The blade control handle remains disconnected from the machine harness.
Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the implement ECM.
At the machine harness connector for the implement ECM, measure the resistance between signal contact J1-3 (wire H711-GN) and frame ground.Expected Result:The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. Results:
YES - The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. Repair: It is unlikely that the ECM has failed. Exit this procedure and perform this procedure again. If the cause of the diagnostic code is not found, replace the ECM. See the Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace".STOP
NO - The resistance is less than 5000 ohms.Repair: The machine harness has failed. There is a short between frame ground and the signal circuit in the machine harness. Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. STOP
