The relay must open the main breaker in 20 ms or less. If the over-current relay is not set correctly, the generator will be damaged. To maintain the short circuit current above three times the rated current, contact your technical communicator.The voltage regulator is installed by the factory and is set up for the rated voltage and frequency of the generator. To change the settings or connections, consult the manual for the voltage regulator.Note: Reference voltage connections must be changed for the voltage regulator when changes occur for main terminal connections of the generator. If a wiring change is made from a "parallel wye" to a "series wye", then wiring changes are also needed at the voltage regulator. That is, wiring changes for E1 and E3/4 must be made. Refer to the Systems Operation, Test and Adjust, UENR5951, "Voltage Connection Diagrams" section of this publication for electrical diagrams that show the wiring arrangements. To change the operating frequency of the voltage regulator, refer to the voltage regulator manual.
