(1) Service brake accumulator
(2) Parking brake accumulators The brake accumulators are located on the inner frame on the left side of the machine. Service brake accumulator (1) and parking brake accumulators (2) contain supply oil for the brakes. Service and parking brake accumulators maintain the amount of oil in the brake system to provide a quick response from the brakes. The brake accumulators provide a steady flow of supply oil to the control valve (brake).The brake oil will flow into the brake accumulators until the brake accumulators are charged. When the accumulators are charged, the brake ECM sends a signal to the solenoid valve for the unloader.The pressure for the service and parking brake accumulators can be checked at the pressure taps located at the bottom of the accumulators. Refer to the Testing and Adjusting, "Brake Accumulator - Test and Charge" Section for information on testing the pressure of the accumulators.
