PROBLEM
The existing 8R-7036 (also listed as 8X-0432 and 8R-7034) Spider and Bearing Group, which is part of the 314-7807 (and 8X-0433) Joint Group, may fail on certain 793C and 793D Off-Highway Trucks. The spider and bearing group can fail because it does not have enough torque capacity for certain applications. The problem is initially felt as a vibration in the machine and can be heard as noise from the driveline. If the existing Spider and Bearing Group fails it may severely damage the torque converter, transmission and/or surrounding components.

ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary. Replace the existing 8R-7036 Spider and Bearing Group with the higher torque capacity 363-1923 Spider and Bearing Group (Universal Joint).
Ensure the universal joint is properly seated and tighten the 2N-2486 Bolts to a torque of 550 +/- 20 Nm (405 +/- 15 lb-ft). Reference SIS media number RENR8328 - Drive Shaft (Main) - Remove and Install as needed.
