Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Put identification marks on all hose assemblies and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies to prevent fluid loss and to prevent contaminants from entering the system.

Position a suitable container under the front wheel assembly to collect hydraulic oil for storage or disposal. Remove drain plug (1). Drain the oil.

Remove bolts (2).

Install Tooling (A). Remove remaining bolts (2). If necessary, use two bolts (2) as pusher bolts to remove cover (3). Remove cover (3). Remove the O-ring seal from cover (3).

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to wheel (4). The weight of wheel (4) is approximately 445 kg (980 lb).

Remove O-ring seals (5). Remove bolts (6). Remove retainer (7).

Remove shim (8) and bearing cone (9).

Use Tooling (B) and the suitable lifting device to remove wheel (4). The weight of wheel (4) is approximately 445 kg (980 lb).

Remove Duo-Cone seal (10). Remove bolts (11).
