Attach Tool (C) to Tool (A) .

Attach Tool (A) to final drive planetary gp (4) .
Remove the remaining 42 bolts (3) and the washers.Note: Discard the used bolts. New bolts will be used for the installation.
Use Tool (A), Tool (C) and the lift truck to remove final drive planetary gp (4). The weight of final drive planetary gp (4) is 1338 kg (2950 lb).

Attach Tool (D) to final drive planetary gp (4). Attach Tool (D) to a suitable lifting device.
Remove final drive planetary gp (4) from Tool (C) .
Use Tool (D) and the suitable lifting device to lower final drive planetary gp (4) onto a suitable work bench.
Remove Tool (D) from final drive planetary gp (4) .
Remove Tool (C) from Tool (A) .

Attach Tool (E) to Tool (A) .

Use the lift truck to position Tool (A) and Tool (E) .

Use set screw (Y) to secure Tool (E) to final drive planetary gp (5) .

Use Tool (A), Tool (E) and a suitable lift truck to remove final drive planetary gp (5). The weight of final drive planetary gp (5) is 519 kg (1145 lb).

Remove thrust washer (6) from final drive planetary gp (5) .

Attach a lifting sling to final drive planetary gp (5). Attach the lifting sling to a suitable lifting device.
Loosen set screw (Y) .
Remove final drive planetary gp (5) from Tool (E) .

Use the lifting sling and the lifting device to lower final drive planetary gp (5) onto a suitable work bench.
Remove the lifting sling.

Remove sun gear (8). The weight of sun gear (8) is 47 kg (104 lb).

If you are attempting to remove the final drive housing in this position, ensure that you remove nine bolts (9) and the washers.Note: Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim (Rear) - Remove" before removing the final drive housing. Also, ensure that a suitable lifting device is used to remove the final drive housing. The weight of the final drive housing is 571 kg (1259 lb).
Failure to remove the nine bolts before removing the final drive housing will result in damage to the housing.
